A big serving of link stew.

Today I thought I would serve you a big portion of link stew. I’ve read a few articles today I found very interesting and would like to share them with you.

Zen Habits writes:

“Practice not-doing and everything will fall into place.” - Lao Tzu

It’s nice now and then to read an article that let’s you know that being lazy is not a bad thing and how it can work for you, not against you.

PETA writes:

Many of the bacteria in cheese are unidentified by scientists, and nobody knows whthoughtat effects they may have.

This is the first time I hear about that and I’m now even more disgusted by cheese.
I’m glad and proud I went vegan. I don’t understand how people can kill something that also has feelings and a family.

Bloggers are usually well aware of the dangers of being accused of libel, and that’s why most independent online journalists are very careful to make sure that everything they write about someone on their blog is backed with documentation and evidence. But when someone writes something libelous about you, you need to be well prepared to fight back hard.

A very nice article on what to do if someone is spreading lies about you online.

A young woman from McFarland called the 27 News Troubleshooter after she says she accidentally ordered a laptop with Ubuntu, instead of Windows.

As a result, she says she canceled her online courses at Madison Area Technical College because she couldn’t get her Verizon internet to work or install Microsoft Word.

It ended good after all. If someone who is going to study at a technical college is unable to use Ubuntu, they obviously don’t have the intelligence to finish their degree with good grades. To be honest, I’m not sure what kind of job this woman would be good at, as she shows so many bad qualities at once. I guess this is a good example of Darwin’s theory of evolution when it comes to intelligence. Only the smartest will survive.

The Local writes:

Middle-aged people who consume modest amounts of coffee can significantly lower their risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease, according to a new study by Finnish and Swedish researchers released on Thursday.

If I only could drink more coffee.

New Scientist writes:

If the GEO600 result is what I suspect it is, then we are all living in a giant cosmic hologram.

If this is true, who is creating this hologram? And no, it’s not God!
Reminds me of the film, 13th floor.
I’m really not surprised if we are a hologram or some kind of simulator though.

Times Online writes:

A young woman who comes from England originally has been viciously assaulted in a Scottish city centre in what police are treating as a racially motivated attack.

This is so disgusting. Scots need to get over it. Norway got hit hard during WW2 by the Germans, but it’s not like Norwegians go around beating up Germans; at least not what I’ve heard. I guess some Scots are too proud of beings Scottish; and instead of trying to break free from Great Britain they rather get drunk and complain how they got screwed by the British.

I hope you enjoyed my link stew today. I’ll probably make another one again, when I feel like it.

Take care.
