We are not on holiday.

I don’t want to go into detail, but it has come to my attention that some think Lizzie and I are on holiday. Actually, we’re not on holiday. We are moving to another country. How we’ve chosen to do it is a bit unique, but it has it’s reasons.

If you didn’t know, we are moving to Australia. Lizzie is an Aussie, so she can enter her home country when ever she wants to. I’m a Norwegian citizen, so I can’t just show my passport and think they will let me in without any type of visa; especially if you are immigrating. I’ll spare you the details about being allowed to move to Australia, because that’s really not important now.

Before going there we have to stop by at my mum’s in Norway, because we’re not sure if we’ll be back in one year or two; and we are moving far away from Norway. Lizzie also wanted to see Norway again.
Our original plan was to go to Norway and back to the Netherlands to then catch the plane from the Netherlands to Australia; until I discovered that leaving from England is more or less half the price.
Our itinerary is as follows, Netherlands to Norway, Norway to England and England to Australia.
Lizzie has never been in London, so it’s double win for her.

We are staying the longest in Norway to get things sorted here before we leave for England. I’ve been busy packing three boxes (since Tuesday) which will be shipped to Australia tomorrow, Thursday. We have then a few more days to relax and save up energy for our next destination, England.

In England we’ll be staying three nights. Sure, we’ll be out and about to eat and maybe see a few things, but our main idea is to relax, as the flight to Australia takes 23 hours.

You can kind of say that our priorities are as follows:

  1. Relax (sleep, rest, play games, etc)
  2. Eat (vegan, healthy)
  3. Get things ready for Australia (shipping stuff, paperwork, etc)
  4. See things (on our way doing 1, 2 and/or 3, nothing costly or tiring, best to be avoided of course)

We’re not trying to be all boring, but we can’t spend too much money and time, and we are still kind of tired from the move. Since we’ve been here we’ve been out for one very long walk; other than that we’ve just been out to buy food, get things sorted and relax all afternoon. I’ve been making my introverted nature very happy and Lizzie seems to be so tired that she’s been more introverted than extroverted.

As an introvert I don’t have the energy to fly around meeting everybody. I sadly don’t have time going travelling around Norway and Sweden to say goodbye. Luckily some are more understanding than others.
This is also the reason why I haven’t been blogging so much; I’ve just been too tired.
