When a storm devours another storm.
Today I had planned to write a short post that was free from complaining, rants and insults. Being the honest person I am that can sometimes be difficult certain days, and this is one of those days. I try not to sound negative and bitter, even if I feel I’m not; as I try to explain to people I am a realist and a rationalist. Sugar coating the truth just to make it pleasant is not an option for me, as I tell it like it is. Of course, I can admit that I might be a bit grumpy sometimes, but according to a recent study that makes me better at making the right decision and being less gullible.

After I finished my rant I decided to actually censor myself today. What was thought to be a one paragraph rant ended up to become a long-winded 400+ words rant. I also had problems holding back towards the end, so I decided to share it with Lizzie first and have her at least proof-reading it; or even make it a collaboration out of it.
Hopefully this issue will be resolved, but I’m not sure for how long I can stand on the sideline without doing something.
Usually when I have to step in and speak my mind the issue isn’t always resolved, but at least people know where I stand and they back off. As I see it, that is actually a resolution in itself, as the situation has been defused.
Earlier today I went to the university as they need to find out at what level my Norwegian education is compared to the Australian system. The person that asked for me were of course not there today, but luckily the guy I met was very helpful. After I helped to point out which transcript the bureaucratic system wanted he assumed he had enough information. I had to spend some time explaining how ridicules the Norwegian school system is and how it can even be confusing for Norwegians too. Before I left I asked what they actually were looking for; if they were trying to figure out to put me directly into the bachelor course or if they were going to put me in the pathway course first. I was then told I don’t need the pathway course. Being told that and already having a student number can only mean they are just trying to figure out why they are going to let me become a biomedical scientist.
Got to love bureaucracy, right?
After that we went straight home. It has been extremely warm today, and it’s still too warm inside. Well, warmer than I like. The weather forecast said it would be rain, and I could see on the radar that a huge storm was heading our direction. For some reason we just got a minor sprinkle (in my opinion), and on the radar it seemed like the storm was just ignoring Brisbane.
They say it will rain the next few days, so I’m crossing my fingers that it will. As I’ve mentioned earlier, I’m sick and tired of the sun. I want some really heavy gloomy rain.
Hopefully I’ll have something more interesting to write about tomorrow though. The heat doesn’t help my creativity, and certain things going on in our lives is not needed at all at the moment.
At least I’m blogging more often now, which feels very good.
Don’t panic!
