Writing about writing a book and other uninteresting things.
For a few weeks ago I mentioned I thought about writing a book, as a few people told me I should and I have really nothing better to do during my day; when I am not busy applying for jobs I will not be offered. I kind of wanted to give my readers the choice to decide what kind of book I would write, but the feedback was just awful to be completely honest. A few good friends and readers bothered giving feedback, but it seems like the majority of lurkers could not care less about if I actually write and publish a book for free.
Lately I have struggled with some random writer’s block and the horrible heat here in Australia. In other words, based on the lacking enthusiasm from my readers, the writer’s block and the heat I am putting my book on ice; no pun intended. I have a few ideas for a few books, but at the moment the time is not right to write any of them.
Again the heat really worries me. I am astonished that people actually find this heat bearable; if not, why stay? It actually makes me a bit worried, as it is draining me for energy. Will it have a really bad impact on my study? I will be here for the next four years. Hopefully I will not fail.
It has for sure made me more introverted. More than I actually feel comfortable with, which is a bit ironic. I got a nice BMX bike, but I have ridden it in weeks because of the heat. It will be too damn hot to peddle around doing tricks in this insane heat.
I am just spending most of my days looking for work and trying to keep cool; and look at what the heat does to my writing. It completely drains me for energy and creativity. It is almost 10pm and I am sweating like there is no tomorrow.
Time to get the icepack and cool down, as we are all out of beer.
