Calm down, it is just an opinion.

One thing that I am glad I have managed to get mostly control of is not getting caught up in online debates. If there is something online that might give you a heart attack it is a very heated discussion online. For over 10 years ago I was very active in forums, especially discussions about religion. Later I drifted towards more random discussions that had no meaning at all; they were more or less pissing contests by people who probably had some personal issues that needed attention.

Sadly I let myself get dragged in again and again, time after time; being delusional that when starting or entering a discussion you have to win it by having the last word and being the one who is “right” while the other person is “wrong”.

Less than 10 years from now I started to realise that what I was doing was complete nonsense and had no value at all. Slowly I started to withdraw from forums. I think that for over 5 years ago I did not part take in any discussion online. I only went to forums to ask purely technical questions to help me solve an issue I had with my computer or whatever.
Of course, now and then I regrettably got sucked back in only a few times; but those few times served as reminders that online discussions are more or less useless. Especially if they are about opinions.

I now tend to join discussions now and then if I know it is a friendly debate or it is obvious it will be purely based on exchange on ideas. If I know it will end up in a heated debate, or more like a pissing contest, I try to avoid it like the H1N1 virus.
Sometimes I do misjudge and end up in a stupid discussion. I tend to diffuse that by acting completely random. Saying the most silliest things so they will stop bugging me and hopefully never annoy me again. I am aware that I might seem a bit childish when I do that, but I honestly do not care.

Nietzsche has the best quote in regards to opinions:

You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist.

In other words, sometimes it is better to agree to disagree.

Note: Sorry if I have made any typos; and I feel sorry for you if it upsets you. I  am tired and I write this  completely for free; so this is what you get. Pay me and I might make an effort.
