Since I switched back to using Linux I saw no other choice to use Songbird as my music player software, as I had used it before on my old Mac and I just love the layout. So when Songbird announced that their next release would have a CD-ripper feature I was, like many others, very excited about it.
Songbird have just released Songbird 1.4.2 1.4.1 with the awesome CD-ripping feature; but it is only, please be seated to be able to handle the shock, for Windows. Again Linux and Mac users are left behind.
I of course understand that they are actually providing software for several platforms, but this is what Mac users and especially Linux users have complained about for years, that software companies stop leaving us in the shadow. You would think and hope that they would understand that no one wants to be left behind, so to be fair it might be better that everyone waits a bit longer. So everyone gets the same update/upgrade and features on the same day; instead of one group gets the good stuff first and the rest is kept waiting without knowing when they will also enjoy the good stuff.
Luckily I am a patient and understand that Rome was not built in one day. Still I can not help to feel a bit disappointed as I thought software companies tried to avoid things like this. I am also used to this, so I will still be enjoying Songbird 1.2.0 until the rest of us also can enjoy the new features.

There’s just no pleasing some people. Users had complained at the development time of 1.4.2 so they released it and now people complain.
Developing for three platforms is a tough task. Linux and Mac support is coming, but in later versions.

That is true, some people are never pleased. Especially Mac and Linux users who always end up at the back of the queue.
As I briefly mentioned, I do understand it is a difficult task to develop for three platforms; but as I also mentioned, Mac and Linux users are tired of waiting in limbo not knowing when they also can enjoy the new features.
I can point out a bit more things directed at your comment, but then I might run the risk of repeating what I have already written. :)
I am still using Songbird and I love the software; I am just being tired of being left behind as usual just because I am using Linux.

Unfortunately they have to cater for their larger market first.
I sympathise with the developers as they’re constantly being compared to WMP and iTunes despite the fact that they’re only available for one platform (or two in the case of iTunes), they have a much larger development team and have been in development for much longer.
Still, I understand your points too. All of the features people constantly request and demand are coming, but unfortunately it’ll take time
