On the Internet it is OK to laugh at each other.

One of many cultures online I have had problems understanding is that people love to make fun of other people. I even find it ironic as many people go online to get away from bullying and seek out like-minded people. I guess the only difference between the real world and the online world is that it is easier to avoid bullying online; but the cost is much higher of course.

If you are made fun of online the whole world will not only be able to see it, they will also be able join in on it.

I try to avoid websites like that, as they contribute nothing than more prejudices and a message that says it is OK to make fun of people if you find it funny.

This is something I have observed in our generation that it is OK to make fun of people as long as you find it fun. If the person or someone else do not find it funny, then they are just boring and have no sense of humour.
I remember the time when the audience decided what was fun or not.

We would all be lying if we said we never judge. Everyone judges each other; it is more about how you do it. It is kind of like what Principal Skinner (from The Simpsons) say to Nelson:

There is being right and there is being nice.

I might judge someone now and then, I will admit to that, but I try to do that without spoken words and pointing fingers.

Next time you judge or make fun of someone, think about how that made you feel. Did you like it?
