Let the lip rip the tube.

After Lizzie had some rest when she got home from volunteering at the RSCPA we headed out to the beach. The first thing that met us though was the warning sign for ‘marine stingers’; which mainly is bluebottles. I had a chat with one of the Life Guards and he guessed it would be a 50/50 chance with the odds on my side; but he also told me not to take his word for it.

As I already know what a bluebottle sting feels I was ready to go and take my chance. Sitting in the car for about an hour, I have no intentions on turning back and going home.
Lizzie and I caught a few good waves, but suddenly we started to spot bluebottles everywhere. We got back to land and started seeing them wash-up almost everywhere. We took a rest. Lizzie bathed in some sun while I did my odd thing, digging in the sand. Do not ask me, but I like digging in the sand. A guy thing maybe?

I was a bit restless to get out in the ocean again, so I walked down to get a quick status on the bluebottles. I turned very quickly as the shore was covered in them. It would be hard not stepping on one at this point. So I went back to digging in the sand again.
After getting bored from them I picked up my board and crossed my fingers. No blue bottles on the shore, so I went for it.

I am starting to get the hang on bodyboarding now. It more or less doesn’t matter how I catch the wave, I manage to ride it and not get dunked. I started also practising on riding the waves sideways.
I am feeling more and more secure out in the water and with the waves now. It is really worth the ride, if you manage to stay away from the bluebottles.

I can’t wait to get out to the beach tomorrow.
It is not only fun, but it makes me completely ignore my worries about work and money. Out there I am just having fun.
Tomorrow I will maybe learn if I get the job or not; sadly I hope I don’t as I know there is a better job out there for me. I just need to find it first. I hate taking jobs because I feel I have to. I have done it too many times before and it has never worked out in the long run.

Who knows, maybe I will have some good stories tomorrow about me riding the lip?

Surf’s up!
