Haphazard fluffy illogic fuzz.
Tonight I will blog from my EeePC instead of my N900. I think it went okay. Had some minor issues with the image, but other than that I can now easily blog anywhere if I happen to see something interesting; instead of waiting hours or days until I get access to my computer or the internet.
Today I apparently signed up to volunteer with SES to ‘give back to the community’ and to keep myself occupied with something. Not too keen on it though, but hey, if it makes a few people happy and off my back I will give it ago.
I admire people who do genuinely volunteer, but, I am sorry, it is not my cup of tea. I know I am still between jobs at the moment, but I feel my time is best spent looking for work and keeping my schedule fully available for paid work. The day I get a job I will let them know I will not be available anymore, and my place would be better spent on someone who might be more committed to this.
If I had money falling out of my arse I would not mind, but I don’t, so at this point money is more important than free labour.
I guess it is a cultural difference as I come from a country where the economy is set up so that most jobs are paid for in some way. I guess there is some volunteering going on in Norway and Sweden, but I have never heard about it to be honest.
If you are unemployed in Sweden or Norway, you are not told to go volunteering, you are told to keep looking for work or take any job available. I guess it is because we have worked so bloody hard to be treated fairly at work we expect to be rewarded some way.
Hopefully I will be studying journalism next year so I can be doing something I want to do.
