What did you say? [updated]

Today I volunteered to let Lizzie and her classmate test me if I have CAPD (Central Audiotory Processing Disorder). The more practice they get, the better they will be when they will test real clients next week. Also it is good for me to see what the missus will be doing; instead of just hearing about it.

Before they could test me for CAPD they had to test my hearing, so they can rule that one out first.
Apparently my hearing is near perfect. From what I could understand from their jargon I had 0dB hearing loss threshold; which apparently means no audible loss what so ever*.

The CPAD test is a battery of tests. The first tests I did very well, but at the end it was more or less downhill from there. Based on the results I really have an issue, but it is at this point inconclusive, as they are not sure if I scored poorly because I have CAPD or due to another underlying factor.
They will have someone with more experience have a look at the results.

In any way it will be nice to know why I have problems remembering certain things I hear and that I have problem hearing what people say in a crowded area. Knowing why is always better than not knowing, even if there is not a cure or some kind of remedy.
I will always have to live with IBS, but at least I know what it is that makes my bowels act like they do.

The testing took a while, but it was fun to see what the missus will eventually be doing. It was nice being part of that.

Hopefully within next week I will know if I truly have CAPD or if I have to talk to another professional regarding what the result says.

Note: Please disregard all possible typos. I was extremely tired when I wrote this.

* I will verify that with Lizzie when she wakes up tomorrow.

.update

As promised I will write a followup article regarding the fact that I have been diagnosed with CAPD.
Hopefully I will finish that article next week.
