Night of the frantic yawns

This is becoming a very bad habit. Staying up late and sleeping in till about nine. But I stand by my new motto for this short period between first semester and second semester at school — I’m on holiday!

I was stressing out so much about handing in my essays in time and passing every exam I thought I would lose it. Go absolutely bonkers. Crash and burn. Never ever be able to handle stress again. Which would result in me dropping out before first semester had ended. The effect of that was unimaginable.

I did my best and got the grades to show for it. Still… How many of semesters like that will I handle until I fold like rolling paper being sneezed at? As I’ve said before; hope it’s bloody worth it — and that I’ll survive it.

What happened to acknowledging experience? Why do you need a fuck-ton of papers to “prove” you are qualified for something? You get in there, do your thing, get corrected, learn from your mistakes and get good at your job. Our society has become too obsessed with conformity. Everyone is special. No child left behind. All that crap bad parents try to tell their kids that in reality is a lost cause. I don’t mean to be mean, but when everyone one else have to suffer because one or two kids are “special”, dumbing down school so no one feels left behind, it will eventually hurt everyone in the end. Something got to give somewhere.

Everyone isn’t special, but I do believe everyone has a specialty. Nurture that and I would think we would have a much better society. Now that would be a society where no one would feel left out. But alas, everyone has to be like everyone else. Dress like each other, talk like each other, believe the same bullshit the current affair programs feeds us and like what everyone else likes. Be different and expect to be an outcast.

The best thing about this bullshit we call society is that, if you don’t buy into it you will have one helluva comedy to watch unfold live. You can’t really make this shit up. Scientist are told they are wrong by armchair philosophers and left in the shadow. While rednecks who shout a lot, drink themself stupid and do things only a moron would do to get on the tube are seen as heroes.

Of course, we can’t tell these idiots to not speak, because everyone is special and everyone has freedom of speech. Doesn’t matter if they are wrong, opinions should be seen as facts now. And the dumber the person is, the more right they have to speak up against something they don’t believe; especially if they believe in a deity.

And people wonder why some need drugs and alcohol to take the edge off?

Good night,
and good luck.

NB: Sorry if I didn’t edit out any grammatical or spelling errors. Still not sober…
