Weekly Photo Challenge: Sky

A photo I snapped a few months ago during a thunderstorm here in Brisbane.
I like how it is so bright in that one spot, and then it slowly fades out into complete darkness.
It was taken with my trusty N900 and edited in GIMP. Just goes to show that it doesn’t matter what you use, but how you use it. When you learn how to take full advantage of your equipment, you will create amazing things regardless what you use. The most advanced tool you can use, to take photos, is not your camera, but yourself — use your eyes and your mind.
Which is why I always snicker a bit when I see kids running around with their expensive cameras, taking photos from one angle, while pretending to be professionals and looking slightly confused.
Just have a look at these videos and you will understand what I’m talking about, why you don’t need a really expensive camera to take good photos.
Do you think owning a Ferrari makes you a good driver?
