Sore throat, aspirin and codeine
Monday afternoon I was exhausted, mentally that is. It was late, probably close to 9 pm and I was still trying to cram, but my brain said: “NO!” Making anything I read beyond that point look like ‘blah blah blah’. Tuesday morning I felt like shit. Sore throat and far from ready, to sit two exams in one day. Not the best day this year.
I had decided to go with the assumption my sore throat was some odd reaction to stress. Admitting that I have caught some kind of throat infection was out of the question. I don’t have time to have a cold. I’m too busy trying to pass this 2nd semester.
But having a hint of lethargy should have made me understand I’ve been unlucky, my immune system was finally defeated.
It’s Thursday afternoon and I can barely swallow. Hurts like hell. Been gargling aspirin with codeine. Taken half the advised dosage in less than six hours or something. Feel like mashing up all the pills and chasing them with some strong minty liquor. Had hoped to get some writing done yesterday and today, but haven’t really felt like doing much.
All I can do is hope that tomorrow I will feel better. But I fear I will wake up with the most horrible cold I’ve ever had in ages.
Have I mentioned I love Shortmail? No… Oh, I did? Of course, I remember now. Haha…. Blame the codeine. Going to write another post about my experience, hopefully this weekend, if I get better of course.
