I’ll have a piece of humble pie

A few months ago, maybe even almost a year, I probably stated I was glad not owning a Mac. I probably criticised Apple a bit too. Posting a video showing how annoying Apple Store managers are. And then saying how shocked I was about the privacy cock-up — “unknowingly” collecting user data.

Hopefully I never came across as a Linux zealot. It always amused me when Linux zealots said how they see Apple as the most evil company on planet earth. But in their next tweet they will praise Google, completely forgetting how many companies they have bought and how many privacy cock-ups they’ve done.

It started about a month ago or so. Just for fun I charged my iPod Touch [G1]. Only to play with it, see how it is to use it after it has collected dust for about a year and six months. What I experienced was not expected at all. This old simple thing worked far better than my Nokia N900. So much better that I would love to just cancel my subscription and sell the damn thing.

I was excited when I got the N900, because it is a cool device, but it is so very, very slow compared to my iPod Touch. Too slow.

Now I have ditched my Eee PCs for a Macbook. Back with Apple again. Planning to get an iPad with a wireless keyboard. My next phone will most likely be a iPhone. All because I wanted to just play around with my old iPod Touch.

I’m a Mac — now.
