Dr. W [Dokter W] is a freelance journalist, columnist and writer based in BrisVegas, QLD, Australia. Originally from Norway, but has lived in Sweden and The Netherlands.
His career as a freelance journalist started at the Westender in 2010, covering mostly art, music and culture, but not limited to that. Early 2011 he covered the 2011 Floods [in Brisbane] focusing on the West End suburb. Dr. W contributes to other publications and blogs.
The Dokter‘s writing style is rough, gritty and unpolished, while being honest, accurate and provocative.
His main inspiration is Dr. Hunter S. Thompson, the creator of Gonzo Journalism. Dr. W isn’t attempting to be HST, but to learn as much from HST style of writing to keep Gonzo Journalism alive and still be relevant in this day of age.
